They are reboots and retellings that try to keep ties to the originals. Where the sequel is happening 25 to 35 years after the original. Well, today's style of sequel, is because its reviving old vintage properties. Had T3 been a direct to DVD release, it would have made a lot more sense as to why it has so many faults. What was lacking was actual quality and depth. They repeated so much of the same thing over again. They threw in a poorly depicted version of a secondary character. They killed off the main character because they couldnt get the actress back. If it didnt go to theater, it had its chance to shine on VHS.Ĭannon Films certainly went all out with the sequels. If it did well at the theater, it would have that second opportunity to do well in home video sales. Sequels were a big thing back around that time because of the VHS direct-to-video store option.
